It’s sad, but true. My short film TUB needs your help.
Check out the kickstarter page above to learn more. Minimum donation is $5. Donate more and get cool “TUB” stuff and other goodies like an original watercolor doodle, etc.
It’s going to be around $7,000 to finish the film and get to Sundance. I’m trying to raise $2,500 by January 13th. Kickstarter.com works like this: If you can raise the amount of money you need to by a certain date, you get the money to go toward your project. If you don’t, the money gets refunded to everyone. If we can raise more than $2,500. Awesome! But, $2,500 is the goal right now.
So, please pledge if you can. TUB is a dream project for me and getting to show it at Sundance is…another dream. Therefore there are two dreams at stake here.
There truly is a God. Dave Itzkoff for The New York Times:
Press representatives for the channel said on Tuesday that its hit series featuring that contentious puppet — not to mention Jeff Dunham, the man with a hand up his back — will not be picked up for a second season, confirming a report that appeared in The Hollywood Reporter. In an e-mail message, Comedy Central said, “We currently have no plans to produce a second season.”
“Greetings to this sparkling constellation from an ex-Hollywood dinosaur. Yes, it is weird to realise that when I was born, radio and television did not exist in the home. But the cinema was wildly alive- and animation was bursting out all over. … See More Every week I gathered up my pocket-money and dashed to the local flea-pit to lose myself in the splendidly eccentric adventures of Felix the Cat. Drawings were actually coming alive! I was hooked. Animation has come a long way since those golden pioneer days of Felix. Now the future is the hands of you lucky people. Forgive me if I take advantage of this exotic occasion to make a small plea as an infatuated pen & ink dipper. Please do not forget that the magical pen line still exists! Also, merely as an observer, I feel that some of you could switch off the automatic pilot and wing your way into wilder territory. Just a thought. Thank you very much for inviting me. I will now go back into my hole.”—Ronald Searle’s adress to the CTN Animation Expo, Via Harald Siepermann.
Yo Un! Getting back to you about the font choice in the Croc Bear pic. Is Adlib a bad choice? lol, I was goin for a 60s ish, Hanna Barbera feel… Not feelin’ it? Hope all’s well man! Happy Merry belated holidays & an even happier New Year for you & yr fam!-Jeaux
My father and his friend Robert Crumb actually tried to work for HB I think. And I love that period. And I think the font selection works. But only use it for the title. And don’t be afraid to alter it. (I am little pretentious with lettering styles and their use.) Thanks so much for the well wishes, same to you I hope you are prepared for some serious play in ‘10! (I am looking forward to seeing what things you have on the way.) - Esau
Yr poppa knows Robert Crumb?!?! That is soo cool! What does yr dad do? Awesome. Thanks for the advice, I’ll try and put them to good use Esau! I have a few things cooking, hopefully they’ll be put towards the use of good, ya know, for all mankind. ;) Thanks for all the support too btw. Good to know I’ve got good doods like you in my corner!
PS- You aren’t related to a Rachel Kessler are you?
